TIES THAT BIND is an innovative programme designed to assist 10 producers from Asia and Europe with potential European-Asian co-production projects. The selected producers work together on their feature projects in two workshops during the Udine Far East Film Festival and the Busan International Film Festival, focusing on script analysis, financial and marketing strategies, legal aspects as well as funding sources in both regions.
The programme is led by a team of top experts from Asia and Europe. Further activities include pitching sessions, case studies and individual meetings with decision makers. Ties that Bind is supported by the CREATIVE EUROPE – MEDIA subprogramme of the European Union and was set up in 2009 by the FVG Audiovisual Fund, EAVE, Udine Far East Film Festival with the collaboration of the Busan International Film Festival and, starting from this year, in partnership with SAAVA (Southeast Asian Audio-Visual Association), founder of the Southeast Asian Film Financing Forum (SAFF) in Singapore.
