Born in Seoul, Korea in 1967. Studied Mass Communication at Sogang Univ.(Seoul, Korea) and received an MA in Cinema Studies at New York Univ. Returned to home country, Korea and worked as Festival Coordinator at the 1st Puchon Int’l Fantastic Film Festival. Served as Korean correspondent to Variety and the Hollywood Reporter, and worked at the Korean Film Commission, Int’l Business Dept while working as coordinator for the Far East Film Festival in Udine, Italy. Shifted gears to film production and worked with critically acclaimed filmmakers as producer on Hong Sangsoo’s Turning gate (2002), Woman is the future of man(2004), Lee Chang-dong’s Secret sunshine which received the award for Best Actress at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival Competition and Korean-Canadian filmmaker, Helen Lee’s short film, Hers at last as part of an omnibus project showcased as the opening film, Ten ten at the 2008 Women’s Film Festival in Seoul. Current projects include the debut feature of Kim Sunmin’s Remember me (tentative title) and cable TV series drama project with Lee Miyeon.
